Mission Reports: Switzerland Jeep

Yesterday evening a team from Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery went up a Switzerland Trail off-chute near Gold Hill to recover a Jeep Wrangler that got hung up in the snow.

The total on-scene time was only 15-20 minutes, but prior to arrival the stuck party spent some time shoveling snow to make the recovery much easier.

Conditions in the high country are deceiving in spots. Never travel through snow or snow drifts that you don’t know the depth of. It is very easy to frame out your vehicle in the snow, and the tires won’t be able to make contact with the dirt to back you out. Your only option will be an assist from another vehicle.
