Mission Reports: More snow recoveries! Elk Park and Missouri Gulch.

Snow recoveries are ongoing! In fact, there is a mission in progress right now too!

As temperatures warm in the high country, remember the snow will likely NOT hold the weight of your vehicle. Both of these operations were for “framed out” vehicles in what’s left of snow drifts.

While the operations were relatively quick in nature, it can still take quite some time to reach you as we have to traverse the same terrain you did, often hours after it’s softened up even more.

When in doubt, back out! But if you do go, have an emergency kit to sustain you for 24+ hours if possible. Extra food, water, clothing, can make a big difference in a comfortable night in your car, vs an extremely uncomfortable night.
