Mission Reports: Moon Gulch Jeep
Sunday Afternoon a team went up Moon Gulch just outside of Rollinsville to recover a Jeep that got too close to the edge of the trail, and slid off in the wet conditions at the time.
If you’ve ever been on moon gulch, there are portions of that trail that lean you out and it gets very easy to run too close to the edge, and ultimately slide right off. Especially if you meet oncoming traffic.
The team utilized multiple redirects to get the winch lines in position through the trees without putting their own vehicles at risk of sliding off the road, and were able to safely and efficiently recover the vehicle. From the time they arrived at the vehicle to the time they were headed out was just over 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Total mission time from 1st person responding to last person home was 7 hours.
