Mission Reports: Gordon Gulch Sinkholes
With the recent abundance of moisture falling in the high country, Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery has ran numerous calls in the Gordon Gulch area of Boulder County pulling vehicles out of some very soft and deep mud. Photo’d are just a couple of them.
None of these vehicles were off trail, but rather traveling the main routes in the area to access camping and other 4×4 trails.
If you venture into the Gordon Gulch area along the peak to peak highway, travel very cautiously and try to avoid the standing water puddles on the sides of the road. They are very soft, deep, and have some decent suction on the bottom of the vehicle when you get stuck in them.
There is plenty of firm road bed if you navigate cautiously!
