Mission Report: South Table Mountain

20190419_south-table-mountain-05

Two organizations, Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery (CO4x4RnR) and Stay the Trail Colorado, came together to recover a vehicle abandoned on South Table Mountain Park hiking trails earlier this week. On April 13, it was discovered that a driver of a vehicle had trespassed on private property at South Table Mountain in Golden and after getting the vehicle high-centered on rocks, left the vehicle in place. In cooperation with parks and the landowner, a CO4x4RnR team deployed to move the vehicle from the trail with as little environmental impact as possible. Stay the Trail representatives assisted the recovery to ensure that the trails used to access the stuck vehicle were not adversely affected during the operation.

Both Stay the Trail and Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery are non-profit organizations dedicated to the care and preservation of Colorado Trails, and educating the communities around Colorado on proper trail use. These organizations came together to serve the community of Golden and return the area in South Table Mountain Park to their designated purpose of being dedicated hiking and biking trails.
