Mission Report: Argentine Pass
We have already shared this with many of our members at last weeks Quarterly Membership Meeting, however to the countless other volunteers and members we thank you, the parties we help thank you, and the Colorado OHV Community thanks you:
“I’d like to thank the countless amazing individuals with Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery who extended an unbelievable amount of support from the time I placed the call for help on Argentine Pass the evening of July 18th until the recovery team safely returned to the trailhead on July 20th. Phenomenal organization that was able to arrange for Derek G to pick me up within a couple hours of making contact with dispatch and got me back on site with Matt R, David C, Gunar H, Joe S, and Justin K to successfully recover my vehicle. Without their knowledge, expertise, equipment, and unmatched selflessness I would’ve spent the night freezing at 12.5k+ ft elevation, likely slid completely off trail, and tumbled a quarter-mile to the bottom of a seasonal alpine lake fed by melted snow pack. I’ve submitted an application for membership and am making definitive plans to better prepare and equip myself so I can lend a hand when it’s my turn–many, many thanks!”
